Baccanale was founded in 2020 by Vincenzo Catarisano and Emmett Sponheim. After working together for many years at West Village restaurant Via Carota, we were inspired by the high quality cuisine and service to start our own business. Seeing the need for smaller event catering, we chose to specialize in cocktail parties creating a menu of sides and appetizers. We fill the void that large scale caterers cannot.

Vincenzo, originally from Rochester, New York, is a self-taught chef inspired by his Italian-American upbringing that emphasized the importance of family, culture and food. His other influences include his love of vintage cookbooks and learning from the great chefs of the 20th century. His experience in the food industry spans 15 years and he has mastered the art of service and customer satisfaction. Outside of catering, Vincenzo enjoys a career as a cabaret singer and performer.

Cooking from a young age, Emmett began working in restaurant kitchens at the age of 16 in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. For more than a decade he has honed his food industry prowess, working as cook, server, and bartender. His cooking draws heavily on the culinary traditions of all regions surrounding the Mediterranean. In addition to his food expertise, Emmett is a furniture designer and works as an artistic assistant.

Both Vincenzo and Emmett currently reside in Brooklyn, NY and are proud to service the NYC and Tri-State area.
